From the wording and due to how crystals/water flickers, I gather there's supposed to be graphics below the ground, yet my gamma-calibrated monitor shows nothing. I think the game needs a brightness adjustment.

The damn gate won't open.

Came here from Haelian :) Very nice little game!! Really liked the atmosphere and the great art style & animations!

Progression was a bit off, had moments where there was too much to wait (mostly to unlock the crystal and then the distillery), then all of a sudden becomes soooo fast, with all upgrades unlocked in a few seconds. I did not bother to wait for the game to open, as after 10 minutes of activity there seemed to be no progress and no upgrades to look for.

So I found this game from Haelian over on Youtube (I noticed in his video's comments section the devs of the game had commented so I know they've seen it).

I came over here and downloaded it.

My computer immediately detected (and thankfully successfully blocked) a TROJAN from it.

HELLO???????

P.S. And before anyone says "Oh but it might have just been a false alarm", both Windows Security AND Opera GX flagged it. And Windows Security found a specific file in the folder, LITERALLY NAMED "Trojan". So no, not a false alarm.

Hi, we are aware that Windows is flagging the executable and we're looking into it. We focus on the WebGL build for game jams and just build from Unity, zip, and publish for the other platforms. I'd be curious to see what file is in the folder called "Trojan", because I've looked through the entire zip and found no such thing.

(1 edit) (+2)

It flagged on the .part download (basically just a tmp file in Windows) with the following: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wdsi/threats/malware-encyclopedia-description?name=Trojan%3AScript%2FWacatac.B!ml&threatid=2147735503

It’s not at all uncommon for Windows to flag on zip archives though, and I am curious to see if it happens with a 7z, gzip, tar, or rar as well.

Honestly though, the best way to keep from false flags is to just submit it to the various AV/AM providers: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wdsi/filesubmission for MS Defender (as an example)

To the OP for this thread: Trojan:SOMETHING does not mean it was found in a Folder named Trojan, it means that the Family of the malware is Trojan, and the “Species” of Trojan is whatever follows the colon.

.....Oh. Well, thanks for letting me know. -w-"

Please make this game longer! It's too good!

how does the gate open

Man, I want to give you some money, this game is to good to be free, how can I do it?

Just informing: Your downloads all flag as malicious.

That was a really interesting, dark, wild ride! I love incremental games, and while there were a couple of moments where things seemed to particularly slow down, there were also several times when things skyrocketed and NUMBERS WENT UP!

This was a fantastic game, let alone that it was made in 72 hours! 😮 And you really captured the vibe via the music, sound effects, and art.

Pretty sure its soft locked...

gate FINALLY opened, was at like 30k when it finally opened. :-) Not toally sure but you likely need to actually watch it open.as I had it part open before and after scrolling through omments (am playing in web version) the door was closed again when I came back.
and no, I got situla to like situal c (aka 100 upgrades) and there is still more to buy. jsut too expensive and not worth the wait.

*SPOILER AHEAD!!!*

Here's how the final game over screen looked for me:

Don't know if this is a bug or not but situla has gotten to over 100 upgrades and continues to get more expensive

it hungers.

beat the game in like 25min, pretty fun, hope it becomes a full game sometime in the future!

what i liked about the game; art style is amazing, the general concept and lore

what i disliked about the game: the progression, it was slow at first but then boom it went super fast like too fast to understand what was going on, it also felt a bit boring after like 10min

also at first i was confused on how to collect the pink pellet things but then i figured out i had to click/hold on the tower that was on the left side, oh and the game froze for me when i went into settings and i had to restart

(1 edit) (+1)

Am I missing something? I can click to fire, and the pink things come up, but I never "collect" them (I can't use the buttons).

EDIT: Thanks to Nooben2550, got it sorted.  Would definitely recommend adding a flash/outline/mouse-over for interactables - at least while the tutorial is active - I thought the tutorial mouse just moved to the side to get out of the way :P

Otherwise, was a great time!  I agree with Nooben that pacing was a little off (too slow at start, too fast at end).  I prefer getting past the "clicky" start a little sooner.  But the overall vibe/music and gameplay were really good.  Well done!

i got the same issue

wait figured it out! click/hold the totem looking pole building on the left side

bought every upgrade and the last gate struggles hard to get opened, im on 10k population already

okay, this game confuses me.
Am at the last gate too, all upgrades bought (well except stula since that seems to be infinitely upgradeable).
had like 3k when I last looked, gate half open.
srolled down through comments, scrolled up.
now at 5k people but gate all closed again? O_o

feels like it simply wasnt implemented for the gate to actually open? O_o

really cool

Great game. Wish it were longer with the same pace.

epic domain expansion ahh game "domain expansion: gate of demonstrated worth"

Delightfully atmospheric, satisfying progression curve. Really enjoyed playing through, thank you!

Honestly enjoyed the game, would be happy to see more of it
Only two things really- please enable itch's built in fullscreen, should be no more work for you - and I'm not sure the alignment upgrade had any effect if bought before calibration 1, it certainly worked afterward, but I don't think before

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it ^_^ Would love to hear any feedback!

Nice game, thank you very much

Beautifully well made game! Congrats!
